This page explains what personal information we collect on carrollcountyhumane.org, why we collect it, and how we use it. We do not sell your information.

Who we are

The Carroll County Humane Society, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Carrollton, Georgia. This policy covers the website at carrollcountyhumane.org.

Questions about this policy, or about your information, can go to [email protected] or 770-830-2763. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 1304, Carrollton, GA 30112.

Information you give us

We only collect what you choose to send. Depending on the form, that can include:

  • Name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code
  • A message, the reason you are writing, and how you would like us to reply
  • How you would like to volunteer, and when you are available
  • Whether you want to join our mailing list
  • A donation amount, a program you want to support, and — if you ask us to — tribute details such as a name, an email, or a mailing address for someone we should notify about a gift

Those details come from the contact form, the volunteer form, the mailing-list signup, and the donation and membership hand-off forms.

How we use it

We use the information you send to:

  • Reply to your question or request
  • Follow up about volunteering
  • Add you to the mailing list when you ask us to, and send updates about animals, pantry days, and events
  • Start a donation or membership on our secure giving pages so you can finish it there
  • Send a tribute notice when you ask us to, without including the gift amount
  • Keep records we need as a nonprofit, such as donation receipts

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.

Donations and membership

Payments are not taken on this website. When you donate or join, we pass along the details you entered so you can finish on give.carrollcountyhumane.org (opens in a new window). Card and check information is entered there, not here. That giving site has its own privacy practices.

Who else sees it

We share information only when we need to run the Society:

  • Our form and giving systems, so staff can read your message, add you to the list you asked for, or complete a gift or membership
  • Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a form was submitted by a person and not a bot
  • The hosting and email services that deliver this website and our mail

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people or animals in an emergency.

Cookies and technical information

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not store personal information in your browser.

When a form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, Cloudflare may set a short-lived cookie so the check can run. Our servers may also keep ordinary technical logs — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — to keep the site working and to investigate abuse. We do not use those logs to build marketing profiles.

Links to other sites

This site links out to Facebook, Petfinder, Google Maps, give.carrollcountyhumane.org, and other organisations. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for what they collect once you leave this website.

How long we keep it

We keep contact and volunteer messages for as long as we need them to help you and to run the Society. Mailing-list details stay until you unsubscribe. Donation and membership records are kept for the time our tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices

  • You can use the site without filling in a form.
  • Every mailing-list email includes a way to unsubscribe.
  • You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it when we no longer need it.

Write to [email protected] or call 770-830-2763.

Children

This website is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you have seen the updated policy.
